Do remember playing this when you were small? Take a daisy, pull out some petals “he loves me” take a few more “he loves me not…”
The aim was to find out if the man or woman of your dreams loved you but it was a bit silly because, if you were like me, you could just pick another daisy until you got the answer you wanted— hardly scientific!
With Santes Dwynwen day in January and St Valentine Day’s this month, we hear a lot about the topic of love at this time of year.
If you’ve heard anything about God you’ve probably heard that he loves you. Perhaps you’ve heard it in a wedding service or seen it written on a sign outside church, maybe your grandparents told you when you were small. But how can we know it’s true?
The Bible is God’s message to us; it’s true and dependable and in lots of ways it like God’s love letter to human beings. That’s really good news but it’s more than just words…
In one place it says that ‘God showed his love to us like this, that while we were still sinners Jesus Christ died for us’ (Romans 5:8), and because God loved the world so much, he gave his only Son-Jesus, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but instead have eternal life (John 3:16).
God loves us and wants us to know him and love him too. Therefore, we are invited to follow him by putting our faith in Jesus.
